Even if nobody asked…..
1. Lesson of the week: don’t watch boxing matches with 2-minute rounds. Ever. Tyson against the guy with two first names was shades of the waste that was once Ali vs. Inoki.
2. So the Boston Red Sox should spend $200+ million more on Juan Soto than what they potentially wouldn’t pay Mookie Betts? I suppose but wow, bad look.
3. Bill Belichick got a ton of reputational equity in NOT talking to the media, by just mumbling nothing into a microphone and letting the words not said elevate his perceived brilliance. Jarod Mayo missed that lesson completely.
4. Is it me or has the baseball HOF admissions standards dropped from like Yale’s acceptance rate to UConn’s in recent years?
5. The Boston Bruins have gotten old, slow, and irrelevant faster than a democrat presidential candidate. (Too soon 😎?)
6. De’Aaron Fox scored 60 the other day. His team lost the game. BTW, has anyone with a hyphenated first name ever scored that many points?
7. Rams HC Sean McVay on Patriots QB Drake Maye: “He looks like he’s going to be a special player for a long time, and he gave us fits today." So there’s that.
8. God hated Tropicana Field so much he blew off the roof and sentenced team ownership to play their home games next season in a tiny minor league stadium owned by their division rivals.
9. When it comes to my position as a New England Patriots season ticket-holder, I’d take a smaller video screen at Gillette in exchange for a better offensive line. Heck, I’d take bench seats again over leaving salary cap space unused. But hey, that’s just me.
10. I don’t care if Jayson Tatum traveled or not (cause the league allows it anyway) in his game winning shot against the Raptors. What I do care about is that he and his team felt THAT was a quality final shot to take. Good grief.
