Even if nobody asked…..
1. In 2021, 67% of MLB games lasted 3+ hours. In 2024, that number was 12%. I love baseball’s new “shot clock”.
2. On average, nine games a week in the NFL are decided by one score or less so please don’t claim you’re not what your record says you are because you have a bunch of one score losses. Every losing team does.
3. In signing a 37-year-old reliever who walked 41 guys in 61 innings last season the Boston Red Sox have shown fans once again that they’re shopping at Savers while insisting the fans take comfort in the fact the item used to be at Nordstrom.
4. You get 50% more points to take a 3 because it was deemed to be a risky shot. Truth is, the riskiest shot nowadays is the 2-point non-dunk/layup. How about we make that worth 3 points, and let that “risky” jumper teams take 50 times a game goes back to being worth 2?
5. The Dolphins are 1-10 in their last 11 games against teams with a winning record. Good grief, talk about being a team that is one thing and then another.
6. If MLB implements a Golden-AB rule doesn’t it have to add a Golden-Pitcher rule? How about a Golden-Fielder? I say this has a near zero chance of happening, BTW.
7. $50 MM a year for a dozen years for a single player not named Ohtani, Betts, Trout (in his prime), or Judge seems wild to me.
Rock it! Happy Wednesday everyone.
