Even if nobody asked….
1. I spend more time fussing over which sweet potato to buy at a market than I ever did fussing over a woman to marry. I’ve fondled a lot more of them too, in case you were about to go there.
2. HUMILITY is Kryptonite to arrogance. GENEROSITY blinds greed. SERVING decapitates obligation.
3. “Alls” is not a word. If you doubt this, use it in a sentence in front of Trish Harrington and see how that goes for you.
4. OK, a moment of truth: a part of the shell lands in your eggs while you’re cooking, does it come out by finger or by silverware? Yeah, I thought so.
5. I use traffic rotary’s (roundabouts for the Brits in today’s audience) as tests of my cognitive function. If I don’t cause metal-on metal or screeching sounds I consider my cognitive function to be downright presidential, maybe even capable of a serving a full term!
6. “Keep it down to a dull roar” was one of my fathers go-to commands when we were kids. He also favored “don’t hide your light under a bushel basket”. Dad was a gifted communicator even when he spoke in such alarming contradictions to his three boys.
7. It’s a lot easier to fool someone than to convince someone they’ve been fooled. Yeah, 2020-2024 on full display right there.
8. Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, Zach Bryan. I can’t be alone on having issues here, can I?
9. You can’t forgive yourself until you forgive OTHERS. Pretty simple algebra. Failure to do so is often a sign of pride and arrogance; not to mention a self-inflicted wound.
10. Occasionally, when my first two noisy children were small, and I had to watch them for a loooooong stretch, I would pick a subtitled foreign film so I could “read a movie” as I looked after them. Le Femme Nikita is the one I remember most from those days. Spectacular movie.
Rock it out today and thanks for reading!
