Even if nobody asked……

1. I officiated a wedding last week. Afterwards, someone came up and told me how much they enjoyed the service. Then they paused, tilted their head a bit and whispered, “But who are you?” Yup, great job but I failed to tell anyone who I was or what connection I had to the bride and groom. I’d call that an excellent sign of my humility but I’m afraid it’s more likely a sign of my cognitive function. Now, what was I saying again…..

2. Envy is the enemy of hope.

3. Words I heard for the first-time last week: “His injuries were incompatible with life.” Description of the kid from One Direction who died in a tragic fall. Yikes.

4. When people ask me which one of my kids was the hardest I tell them it was my mother-in-laws kid. 😎

5. “The machine of your life is run by the fuel of your tongue.” Tim Hatch on the OPPORTUNITY or THREAT your words can bring to you.

6. “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak is a perfect song.

7. “When success becomes an idol, bullying usually becomes a sacrament.” (HT: Doc Farris)

8. “Don’t try to understand women, women understand women and they hate each other.” Words of wisdom from Al Bundy.

9. “When people stop believing in God they don't believe in NOTHING; they believe in ANYTHING.” Words that seem to describe a whole bunch of people these days.

10. Comedian Brian Regan describes physical pain as “everything on my insides feels like it’s on my outsides.” This same description works to describe homes in Tampa and Sarasota after they were recently hit by the hurricane doubleheader this month. Not pretty.
