Even if nobody asked…..

1. My phone has their full names in the contacts list. Hers has nicknames, inside jokes, emojis, and names that would make absolutely no sense to law enforcement.

I usually step in to fix mistakes. She steps in to heal wounds.

When life gets heavy, they call her first. Not because they love me less, but because she somehow becomes part mother, part nurse, part therapist, part hostage negotiator, and part Holy Spirit.

She’s the kind of mom kids would draft first overall if motherhood were a fantasy league.

Our kids watch her more than they realize. In a hundred quiet ways, she’s teaching them what strength, grace, sacrifice, and love actually look like. She’s becoming part of their inner voice for the rest of their lives.

Meanwhile, I’m still proud of myself when I remember somebody’s food order.

As her husband, I just hope she feels tomorrow what the rest of us feel every single day: gratitude that God gave our family her.

Happy Mother’s Day to the GOAT Trish Harrington.

2. “My imagination got to live longer than most.” – Ella Langley on being homeschooled.

3. One of the benefits of suffering is that it teaches others how to love. Another is that it encourages others to pray.

4. Every item on your desk is an interruption. A workspace is not a storage space.

5. Not trying new things is a lack of faith. If it’s not broken, break it. – Tim Hatch

6. “If you only come face-to-face with your own mistakes once or twice in your life, it’s bound to be extra painful. I face mine every day. That way they usually aren’t much worse than a dry shave.” – Lonesome Dove

7. “The heaviest weight at the gym is the front door.”

8. “He was eventually here.” My wife, unwittingly explaining time travel. I think.

9. Some things can only be seen through eyes that have cried.

10. “Remain seated with your seatbelts securely fastened,” the flight attendant bellows as we approach the gate. Somehow, we’re trusted to move freely about the cabin five miles in the air at 500 miles an hour, yet the real death-defying act apparently begins while taxiing to the gate at 10 miles an hour.

Rock it today! And thanks for being such a faithful reader of EINA.
