Even if nobody asked….

1. I have as much expectation of Juan Soto wearing a Red Sox uniform as I do of my wife being able to tell me what sport he plays.

2. Don’t miss the significance of the state-controlled NFL broadcast media posting a graphic during the Patriots game Sunday that showed the 1st season win/loss records of Bill Parcels (1-10), Pete Carroll (5-5) and Bill Belichick (3-8) next to Jerod Mayo’s (3-8). The message is clear: you didn’t fire those guys in New England, so you better not fire this guy. Of course, no context was offered.

3. Jarren Duran, WOW, what a year. First player since Lou Brock (I was 7 years old) to lead the league in both doubles AND triples. Add-in his 21 homers, 34 steals, All-Star game MVP and Gold Glove finalist and you have a year you’d be happy to get from, say, Juan Soto.

4. That monster Knicks/Timberwolves trade is looking too good by half right now for 8-9 Minnesota. Sometimes CLEVER doesn’t mean BETTER.

5. So far this season, the Denver Nuggets are an astounding 34 points per 100 possessions better on offense when reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is on the floor. That is insane.

6. I’m a Celtics fan. I want them to win every game they play. I also loath watching them play. Yes, I’m an enigma wrapped in a riddle.

7. You’d have a hard time convincing me that Tua is not the most proven valuable NFL player right now. The Dolphins with him and without him are a supermodel with makeup and without. I say they nearly run the table and make the playoffs.

8. In football, there are turnovers FORCED and turnovers COMMITTED. I’d like to see stats that break that out.
