Even if nobody asked…..
1. Am I still considered a good listener if I tune my wife out when she starts a sentence with “You know what I’m going to do after you die…..”?
2. The Wedding People is an excellent novel. Takes place in Newport, RI and was written by a Creative Writing professor at Providence College (Go Friars!) Funny and poignant.
3. Instead of asking "How do I succeed?", ask "How do I ensure failure?" Then do the opposite.
4. When a politician says, “Save the DEMOCRACY” what they really mean is “Save the BUREACRACY”.
5. In running an organization, you need to ask WHY are we here, WHO are we, WHERE are we going and HOW are we getting there. These are your PURPOSE, CORE VALUES, VISION, and EXECUTION. Not enough organizations can answer any of these, never mind all of these. IMHO.
6. It’s very hard to have tariffs AND lower prices. Not to mention, tariffs and deregulation are a contradiction. Be careful there DJT.
7. Peacekeeping is nutrition. Peacemaking is surgery. Rick Ferris taught me that.
8. If “showing interest” and “made an offer” were results and not intentions the Boston Red Sox would be the Dodgers.
9. “Not adding value is the same as taking it away” HT: Seth Godin
10. I attended an event in DC last weekend where a speaker started her speech with this gift of a line: “In 1982 I came to this country in 1968”. Sometimes it’s the little things in life that make me laugh.
Have a great weekend, thanks for reading, commenting and SHARING.
