Even if nobody asked……

1. A buddy of mine had two kids graduate on the same day this week. One from kindergarten and one from high school. In between that are seven other children – and probably an industrial-sized pasta inventory.

2. If it has the word “toffee” in front of it, I’m eating it. This is not a weakness. This is doctrinal.

3. If I cook you a steak at my house, I will serve it sliced. Non-negotiable. You can disagree with me politically, theologically, and philosophically. But not on this.

4. Rebuke in private. Praise in public.

5. Ever notice atheists get angry about the idea of God but never about the idea of Satan? Interesting little tell there.

6. Peace Like a River by Leif Enger is one of those books you finish and immediately want to hand to someone else. Especially people of faith.

7. 52% of the Fortune 500 companies from the year 2000 are gone. Which is a nice reminder that “industry leader” has roughly the same shelf life as a Buick.

8. If your entire ideology consists of opposing somebody else’s ideology, you are not a thinker, you are a banging gong.

9. Truth becomes part of your past. A lie becomes part of your future.

10. When Alex Cora (Red Sox) and Rob Thomson (Phillies) were fired in April, they became just the second and third managers in the 150-year history of baseball to be fired in April after making the playoffs the previous season. Cora at least went out with flair.

Final inning as Red Sox manager:

Boston 10

Baltimore 0

Well, if you’re getting fired anyway, that’s pretty much sticking the landing.

Thanks for being here. Have a great looooooong weekend.
