Even if nobody asked……

1. 23 people have visited our house in Florida over the last 21 days (17 stayed overnight). 6 days included time at a beach club, nine dinners in restaurants, three different churches attended, one MLB game in-person, one fantasy baseball draft held, 15 hours of IV infusions, 96 hours of chemo and COUNTLESS hours of meaningful conversations. April of 2025 has been quite a month.

2. Ever find yourself reading a novel where you say, “Wow, this book is unbelievable” and then say, “Man, this book is killing me, how many more pages are there?!” That’s 'All the Colors of the Dark' for me right now.

3. Don’t tell me you had a wonderful meeting with me. Tell me WHAT you are going to do on Monday that’s DIFFERENT. – Peter Drucker

4. If Trump puts a tariff on the gospel, it’s still going to be free.

5. Professional salespeople, say it again, please! “I always get paid. Sometimes now. Sometimes later. But always eventually.” Only amateurs forget this. Stop worrying. Don’t be an amateur.

6. If you believe God really loves you, it should make you emotionally unshakable in the face of criticism, suffering, and death………. SHOULD.

7. The most underrated life skill is showing up when you don’t want to. Right there. #1. Nothing is more valuable. Or more difficult in some seasons of life.

8. “The Irish do have a despairing quality of gaiety, but they have also a dour and brooding ghost that rides on their shoulders and peers in on their thoughts. Let them laugh too loudly, it sticks a long finger down their throats. They condemn themselves before they are charged, and this makes them defensive always.” – John Steinbeck, East of Eden, #2 on my all-time list of novels…so far.

9. Your REPUTATION is being built with or without you.

10. My youngest finished her freshman year at U Pitt nursing the other day and this suddenly dawned on her: “Next year I can give people shots! I can’t believe they’re going to let me do that. I’m only 19 and I don’t even know what the lights on my dashboard are for.” Please just hold on to that humility (and humor), Brady. Please. (HT: Trish)

Longish today so thanks for putting in the work, you rock! Comments are encouraged.
