Even if nobody asked……
1. Ripley’s Believe It Or Not: One of the two man-made climate change events that hit Florida last month blew my family-sized gas grill into the bottom of my 9-foot swimming pool. A senior citizen discount buddy of mine Mark Pacheco drove an hour to my house, dove into the very cold water and muscled the thing out! I arrived a week later and forget the grill had drowned. I fire it up to make a steak and BAM, it works! It was also a lot cleaner than the last time I used it. Win/win.
2. “Hurry is not OF the Devil, it IS the Devil.”
3. I blew out a tire on the highway going to church Sunday morning but managed to get the car off to a shoulder and hail AAA to the scene. When their customer service rep called back she finished our conversation with “OK, have a BETTER day”. Good messaging right there. Well done.
4. You can’t have a meaningful life without WORK, but work can’t be the MEANING of your life. Slippery slope.
5. You pray for your enemies because it changes YOUR heart. If it someday changes THEIRS then thank God for the nice gratuity you got on your forgiveness.
6. My wife Trish on Wednesday morning after the election: “I’m capping my screen time today at 23.5 hours”.
7. The overused phrase “my team” in a company drives me a little crazy. Frankly, you aren’t a team just because you work together. To be a team you have to have shared values, trust, and respect. It also helps if you care about one another.
8. I woke-up Monday to 29 degrees, Tuesday to 51 degrees and Wednesday to 60 degrees. You telling me this has nothing to do with messing with the clocks? Yeah, I’m not listening. In fact, I’m setting mine back again this weekend.
9. Nothing kills the joy of finding a lost item quite like the words “IT’S RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE!” springing forth from the mouth of your precious soulmate.
10. If I had more time, this would have been a shorter post.
