Even if nobody asked…..

1. The biggest challenge to people of faith is not non-believers. It's false believers.

2. "Your purpose will always INVOLVE you, but it can't BE you."

3. Nothing dies harder than the desire to think well of ourselves. That's why humility may be the hardest virtue to attain.

4. "Truth is, rarely can new information stop a woman's emotional chaos in the moment. But that is what defensiveness usually looks like: responding to emotion with an intellectual response." — Dr. Robert Glover (Or me trying to start an online food fight on a Saturday morning.)

5. I got cable TV in 1983. The first thing I watched was an NBA game. The first voice I heard belonged to John Andariese. I thought of him this week as the Knicks marched into the NBA Finals. John was the Knicks announcer when he wasn't moonlighting for that startup cable network in New Britain, Connecticut. They called it the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.

6. People lament that a Big Mac doesn't cost $2 anymore, then argue the fry cook should make $25 an hour. And somehow they don't get a Popsicle headache trying to reconcile the two.

7. "You cannot have a welfare state and free immigration." – Milton Friedman

8. I only set temperatures in my house and car to even numbers. I can't possibly be alone in this, right?

9. Read a headline this week accusing a woman of stealing someone else's boob job. I can't fathom how that happened, and I'm far too protective of my search history to click the link and investigate.

10. Flights with connection times under an hour in major airports are basically a Genie-in-the-Bottle situation. You'll need all three wishes if you hope to get home the same day you left. A lesson my daughter learned this week. Dad will stay quiet for a few more days before sharing that particular nugget of wisdom.
