Even if nobody asked…..
1. The vitriol Caitlin Clark has experience in the WNBA has been attributed to race, being straight, being young, being confident or whatever. But maybe it’s far simpler than that: JEALOUSY. Ladies, after all, can be pretty rough on one another when the green-eyed monster gets involved. Check that box for my explanation of the nonsense.
2. OK, I just learned that the band Abba is from Sweden, not Australia. I. Did. Not. Know. That. (In my best Johnnie Carson voice.) Next thing you know someone’s going to tell me the Bee Gees aren’t from Australia either or that KC and the Sunshine Band aren’t from Missouri.
3. I am the man of the house, but Trish is absolutely the Manny of our house. In fact, when anyone asks about a house project, I just tell them to check with “The Super”.
4. “What you should have done is…” amounts to PREACHING to someone, not CARING about someone. “What do you plan to do now?” is caring about someone, not preaching to someone. Let’s get this right.
5. Be on the lookout, post an APB, be on heightened alert and be ready to hunt it down and stab it when you hear it. What is this dangerous villain? It’s the word ‘certainly’. It gets thrown around with reckless abandon, rarely proving what it so assuredly claims. It’s camouflage for an otherwise quite ‘UNcertain’ conclusion. It’s a look-away pass trying to evade opposition. The media tosses it around in an effort to anesthetize the common sense of its audience. We need to deport this word. Consider yourself deputized!
6. Every once in a while, let yourself be bored; it may lead to something inspiring. In related news, I am never bored.
7. The biggest lie ever written by a lyricist belongs to Rupert Holmes in his 1975 hit Escape (the Pina Colada song). “…. then we laughed for a moment.” Yeah, sure they did. More likely someone got shot.
8. I meet a lot of cynical people. I just wish they were more cynical about their lack of hope. That would be refreshing to see.
9. I recently met a Wine Club that has a book problem. Members of course, call it a “Book Club”. Sure!
10. Line of the week comes from The Super. We were set to walk past a couple of construction guys, Mrs. Even If Nobody Asked dressed in a flattering summer outfit. I mumble something about how happy these guys are about to be, and she snaps: “Not all guys are perverts like you.” Nope, and all the planets are round except those two flat ones up there in the sky right now. 😎
Thanks for reading along…….
