Even if nobody asked……

1. Traffic lights in Florida need a pitch clock.

2. First day of kindergarten and preschool for my grandsons. On the drive over, my daughter checks to make sure they know the rules.

The older one, JT, says, “Be kind to everyone and say please and thank you.”

The younger one, Mac, blurts out, “And no swearing!”

3. I still say, “roll down the windows.” I can’t be alone in this.

4. Parenting is way more about controlling YOUR own emotions than it is about controlling your child’s.

5. Earlier this summer, the two children of my former president at Shamrock, Rod Correia (wifey, Martha), nearly won the RI Open and Mass Open golf tournaments. Once upon a time, they were simply riding in the back seat while my daughter Morgan was their favorite babysitter. Time is a thief – but every now and then it leaves you a receipt.

6. A god you can totally understand is a god of your own making.

7. The Netflix series Death of a Pastor’s Wife is an unfortunate production. An evil cartoon character masquerades as a pastor, gathers a bunch of fools on a Sunday, and misuses Scripture to support his sinful, deadly passions. Oh great. Can’t wait for Season 2.

8. Morality depends on consequences. Remove negative consequence from bad behavior and you shouldn't wonder where morality has gone in 2026.

9. “Hey Daddy, guess what?”….Man, some days there may be no set of words I miss more.

10. My wife reminded me the other day how our younger girls used to play HORSE on our basketball court. Nice memory – until she reminded me of the time we were sitting on the deck and asked one of them how the game was going. “I’m HOR and she’s HO,” came the proud, enthusiastic reply.

Parenting gives you memories you couldn’t possibly make up.
