Even if nobody asked…..

1. Your children don’t own a phone. YOU bought a phone and you let them use it. You own it, they don’t. This perspective should help build their gratitude.

2. The magic you’re looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

3. I’m an elite parallel parker. Just in case you didn’t know that. But hey, everyone has at least one superpower, right?

4. Some may have the biopsy, CT Scan or MRI to show the battle they’re in, but EVERYONE is in some kind of battle we know nothing about. Life is better when you see people this way.

5. My engineer daughter has a grad school internship this summer in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I keep reminding her to look up the Polka King while she’s there. She doesn’t get it. Others don’t seem to get it either. Come on people, help me out here!

6. Making decisions doesn’t take much time. It’s NOT making decisions that takes time.

7. I finally took on Peaky Blinders. I’m in season two and still not sure who is in one gang or the other, or the other, or the other. Maybe we need uniforms? Subtitles with affiliations?

8. “A man who doesn’t FEAR God doesn’t HEAR God”. Not sure that’s entirely biblical but it rhymes, so there you go.

9. Make COMMITMENTS, not GOALS.

10. Walked into a very Irish wake the other night and was greeted enthusiastically by the oldest son of the deceased. One arm around my shoulder, one hand pointed at the casket that held his beloved father he announces to everyone: “Hey, now we have the two best basketball coaches in the state in the same room!” I could only chuckle. Of course, my beautiful wife leans in and whispers “Well, you should have seen the parallel parking job he just pulled off to get us in here.”

Two superpowers, maybe?
