Even if nobody asked…..

1. My wife Trish and I decided to start watching the series Justified. Ten minutes in we both realized we’d started this before and had stopped it. Neither of us could remember WHY we bailed on it. She suggested we find something else, but I had a ‘better’ idea: “Let’s watch it to find out why we stopped watching it!” She looked over and nodded – ever so slightly. I hit play. Yeah, it’s been a weird year.

2. “It’s not that I’m afraid to die, I just don’t want to be there when it happens.”

3. Fellas, when your lady says she will be ready in 5 minutes it’s best to measure those minutes the same way 5 minutes are left in a football or basketball game (AND with all the timeouts remaining). Fair is fair.

4. Children totally accept – and crave – family rules. “In our family we have a rule for X” is the only excuse a parent needs for setting a family policy.” Have a rule for X” is the only excuse you need for your own personal policies. – Kevin Kelly

5. “Humor is often anger with makeup on.”

6. When I was a kid, shortly after we didn’t land on the moon, all it took to have a winning day was to receive your 12 Columbia House music CD’s in the mail. Ah, the 70’s (or more accurately, the '80's).

7. The brain alone is not enough to explain the mind.

8. “Without God, your “GOOD” is as arbitrary as fashion trends, one era’s virtue is another’s vice.”

9. Success: doing the right thing, the right way, at the right time. – Nick Saban.

10. Biggest takeaway so far in 2025 is learning to walk around drugged and hungover (oncologists prefer the word “fatigued”) without feeling your fingers and toes. I didn’t have any of those “skills” from 1961 to 2024 so I guess it’s been a year of TRUE personal growth! 💪

Here's to a great day, filled with your witty comments and generous shares.
