Even if nobody asked …….(sports version)

1. So Aroldis Chapman gets Cy Young votes, right?

2. Starting pitcher Quinn Priester of the Milwaukee Brewers was on the Red Sox roster to start the season but the team traded him for an A Ball OF prospect. Quinn is now 12-2 with a 3.25 ERA. Meanwhile, the Sox 5th starter is called Opener.

3. Drake Maye looked more like Dustin May Sunday in Foxboro.

4. Top-5 BCS football teams facing each other in August is a bad idea.

5. Flyballs into the stands go to the youngest person closest to its landing. No matter who ends up with it. How is this so hard to grasp?

6. When the Sox lost Eduardo Rodriques to free agency a few years back the draft pick compensation they received was used to select a high school outfielder from Parkland, FL. How’d THAT work out?

7. Speaking of Roman Anthony, who knew losing him for the season would feel so much like the Celtics losing Jayson Tatum? Shades of Jim Rice rookie year September injury in 1975.

8. NFL QB play Sunday was at an all-time low to my eyes and tonight we don’t have much chance of that improving. Over half the league had a QBR under 57. Tua Taglovailoa was 2.7! Gross.

9. Diamondbacks 25-year-old outfielder is 5’10 and weighs 165 pounds (sure he does!). He’s hit 30 homers in a season and stolen 54 bases in a season. Then again, he was the 16th overall pick in the 2019 draft.

10. Nick Sogard’s professional double gave the Sox one of their most important wins of the year yesterday in Arizona. Nick is the nephew of former MLB players Steve and Dave Sax and cousins of former MLB players Eric and Alex Sogard. It’s in the genes, people!

Thanks all, you rock.
