1. The Writers Hall of Shame is led by authors who release a novel knowing a sequel will be needed to complete the plot. These people fall just behind exclamation point addicts and just in front of those who think irregardless is a word in my book.
2. Exceptional leaders know they have no choice but to do first things first—and second things NOT AT ALL.
3. I have the Spoiled Brat seats at Gillette Stadium (they're red). This year food in the Cross Insurance Club is FREE. But last Sunday I still had FEWER deserts than the Patriots had turnovers. Now that’s discipline. 💪
4. Confession: I do not handle random solicitors at my door as well as I should. Magazine people, solar panel salesmen, Jehovah Witnesses, doesn’t matter. My future plan is to resolicit back at them by introducing them to Jesus. I’ve done this sporadically in the past but from now on I’ll be doing it robustly! You have been warned.
5. The damage isn’t in intimating someone, it’s in intimating yourself. Don’t make a caricature of yourself.
6. There are days where I lack the ambition to fully top off my gas tank when I’m at the pump. “Yeah, that’s enough for today, buddy, good job” is what I hear myself say. I can't be along on this, right?
7. The role of government according to Scripture is simple: to restrain evil.
8. Speaking of evil, if your job is paid by taxpayers and you rejoice in the public execution of one of those taxpayers then chalk me up as being OK with your firing.
9. Rarely is a business doomed by a competitor. Businesses are taken out by their own leaders, not someone else’s.
10. My dear wife Trish refuses to account for the reality that speaking to me from a room I’m not in is basically muting a TV and wondering why you can’t hear it. Every. Single. Day. 😳 Fellas, talk to me here!
