Even if nobody asked:
1. In Florida by myself and I decide to turn my phone off. I fall asleep. Next thing you know, I hear my wife’s voice yelling, “Pick up your phone! Pick up your phone!” I think I’m hallucinating, maybe even losing my mind. So, I talked back to it, because, well, I'm going crazy. But apparently, she logged into our Google Home network from Rhode Island to talk AT me. And why would she do that, you might ask? “Because you weren't answering your phone, and I thought you might be dead or something” (or something?). “Well honey, did it occur to you that screaming at a 63-year-old in his sleep might induce a hazardous attack of some kind?” No, she replies, but I knew it would get you to call me. “OK, what’s so important?” “Oh nothing, just wanted to say hi”. 🤨
2. “The SMALLER you define your world, the LARGER your problems.” Make your world BIG.
3. I swear my muscles are just as strong now as they were when I was in my 30’s. Trouble is, they’re connected to my joints, which are decidedly NOT what they were in my 30’s. The strongest of doors don’t work well if the hinges are rusted or pulling off the frame. Glad I have this figured out.
4. Why I’ll always loan somebody $20: If you lend them $20 and you never see them again because they are avoiding paying you back that makes it worth the $20. (HT: Kevin Kelly)
5. Tennis great Roger Federer won 80% of his matches but just a mere 54% of the points. Win by just a little each day, just a little and you’ll be a Hall of Fame performer.
6. This week’s word that is ‘read but not said’: Moreover. Yup, read it a ton of times, yet to hear someone actually say it out loud. And, again, if I do hear it, I’m out, not a single word in reply, I’ll just turn and walk away.
7. When I first drove a car with my own child in it (November 1, 1988), I was a wreck. A pure symbol of road rage on the hunt. Everyone was driving too fast, too carelessly, too dangerously. Everyone! In related news, don’t dare drive your car near me after I’ve exited a car wash. Just don’t. (Because an accident in a clean car is worse, right?)
8. If you ask me, aging means more face to wash and less hair to comb.
9. I recently read that of all living creatures, not more than one in ten million is a human being. A person is, in effect, a biological rarity. Let’s act like it people! #Gratitude #BeElite
10. Life is about SEASONS. You have to be aware that some seasons need to end for others to begin. And some seasons only end when you finally get HOPELESS about them. Hopelessness creates surrender. Took me forever to learn this. I’m a slow study.
