Even if nobody asked….
1. The length of any line I’m forced to wait in will directly determine the shape and posture of my facial expressions. All of them. This cannot be good.
2. You do not want the thing. You want the version of the thing that costs nothing. Ouch.
3. A narcissist needs to be the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral.
4. When listening to someone, do not let your eyes stray toward a passerby – or any other visual or audible distraction. Stay locked in. It becomes a superpower.
5. Delivering a talk to a largely Brazilian crowd this morning. And no, I do not speak Brazilian – but neither do they. I’ll just talk louder and move my hands a lot.
6. “Forgive yourself for not knowing earlier what only time could teach you.”
7. It is OK not to have an opinion on everything. Focus on a few things and ignore the rest. Life is not studying for a final exam.
8. Your business will grow to the size of the problems you’re willing to solve and the opportunities you’re willing to engage.
9. “Money loves speed. Wealth loves time. Poverty loves indecision.”
10. My daughter found herself in airports this week, working on gate-redesign plans. One customer handed in a survey card that read:
“No real input, but the lady handing out the survey cards was very beautiful, so that was kind of distracting.”
She made me promise not to share this with anyone because her amusement might seem vain. Yeah, well, her dad needed a tenth point, so he’s either having a senior moment and claiming he forgot…or thanking the Lord she isn’t on Facebook 😎.
Rock it out today.
